The new eGalaxy Mobile Web Store solution from Gateway Ticketing Systems, Inc. has been designed to help customers improve operations and efficiency while increasing sales.
More and more, consumers expect to be able to use their mobile devices for day-to-day activities and ticketing is no different.
The eGalaxy Mobile Web Store enables Gateway customers to configure products targeted specifically toward mobile consumers. It encourages guests to use their phones to make purchases en route or on arrival to avoid lines. Guests can also order additional event tickets from inside the attraction without returning to the gate.
Some companies in the attraction and entertainment industries anticipate that by 2013, up to half of the traffic to their websites will be from mobile devices.
Gateway Ticketing Systems director of sales and marketing, Michael Furman said: "Gateway is excited to be able to respond to customer demand for a mobile phone ticketing module that functions as a fully integrated sales channel with their existing Galaxy system."
For guests, the eGalaxy Mobile Web Store solution means no ticket lines, a more convenient purchasing option and no lost tickets - if a guest has their phone, they have their tickets.
For the attractions industry, it means less ticket stock and smoother operations.
Gateway product solutions manager, Marcus Lopez said: "Our solution will work on the iPhone, Android devices, Blackberry phones - really, any device with a web browser and an internet connection.
"We wanted to make sure our customers could reach the widest audience possible."
Additionally, the eGalaxy Mobile Web Store does not rely on the consumer store for functionality so it can even be used by customers who do not currently sell tickets through an eGalaxy product.
